Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative
Developed by Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies with support from corporate partners and community organizations, the Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative helps bridge the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and math education.
It prepares young women from underrepresented populations by focusing on three strategic approaches:
- INTRODUCE female STEM role models and leadership
- BUILD a bridge between k-12 and college
- CONNECT the STEM classroom to the real world
A one week program held in the summer of 2017, the initiative includes 4 cohorts of 25 girls taking place in New York, Miami, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
The program is tuition free with the support of generous donors.
Your gift to the Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative will support Scholarships for Girls to attend the program in the summer.
The Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative will be funded through the Girls in STEM. Your gift to the Girls in STEM Fund will support this initiative.
